We hope this will be the first of many donations we expect to donate to Ukraine this year
Alongside 'Fahala Centro' in Alhaurin el Grande, TAPAS have chosen to support the people of Ukraine for the whole of this year through singing and performing and social events.
All our performances for this year will be in aid of these two charities, while giving enjoyment , laughter and pleasure to our local community.
TAPAS SING CHRISTMAS....
Well..... What an exciting and fabulous start to the Christmas season. Yesterday TAPAS sang Christmas songs old & new for the customers at La Risa Bistro Alhaurin de La Torre. There were over 15 stalls selling their specialities, some lovely cheeses & wines, hand made Christmas decorations, Jewellery.....wow....so much to buy! TAPAS is following this with their Christmas Showtime event on Saturday 3rd December at Alhaurin Golf Club, and then singing at ARCH on Sunday 4th, Tuesday 6th is Sierra Restaurant, Mijas in aid of the British Benevolent Fund, Friday 9th December we sing at the Fahala Centre in AEG and we close our festivities at the Salon Varieties on 10th & 11 December.
OLDER NEWS
0ne of our first highlights was seeing ourselves on Channel 5’s Bargain Loving Brits in February. This was filmed in 2020 but only came to our screens in 2021 making movie stars of us all !!!
Whilst waiting for our chance to sing again we didn’t sit still. We stretched our legs on a variety of walks, had singing exercises on Zoom thanks to our amazing musical director James Burn.
And then on the 19th April it was all voices to the pumps as we were finally allowed to tune up our vocal chords and ‘Sing out loud’ What a great feeling that was.
To make sure our voices were in good form we took ourselves off for an 8km walk in 35 degree heat as we conquered the Caminito del Rey. The hill’s were definitely alive with the ‘Sound of Music’
We were on a roll, merrily singing and planning and then a little set back, theft of our sound equipment. Fortunately nobody was hurt and thanks to friends coming to our assistance we were not out of action.
Thankfully the rest of the year just got better and better.We had many engagements and events which kept us active throughout the summer. This culminated in an amazing busy Christmas that kept us on our toes and tonsils. We were back on the TV again with Radio Television Alhaurin el Grande and Mijas International News.
And the icing on the cake was that we were able to hand over 1,000 Euros each to our two charities, the Fahala Centre in Alhaurin el Grande and Pawsawhile Dog Rescue.
So what was a bit of a slow start soon turned out to be a FAB U LOUS year of fun, laughter, singing and happiness.
